What: “An unofficial social gathering by cats”
When: The first Saturday of every month, 1:30 – 4:30 p.m.
For years now, San Francisco cat lovers have been gathering at one of the city’s coolest parks on the first Saturday afternoon of every month. First Caturdays is an event designed, first and foremost, for cats who want to be outdoors. It’s meant to enrich cats’ lives, not to make cats uncomfortable.
Cat parents are invited to bring their happy, willing cats to the park however they see fit: on a leash, in their arms, in a stroller, or even in a cat carrier. They’re encouraged to follow their cat’s lead when it comes to socializing, but not to push them to be more “out there” than they’re comfortable with.
Even if you don’t have a cat, you’re welcome to come hang out with these chill felines! The event is completely and totally free; bring a blanket and some food to enjoy while you take in one of San Francisco’s best free views.
Interested in socializing your cat? Be sure they’re up-to-date on all vaccinations and consider talking to your vet about optional lifestyle vaccines that may be appropriate for your cat.
