When: Saturday, September 21st from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Bark in the Park is one of the Bay Area’s biggest pet events of the year. This San Jose festival welcomes nearly 4,000 dogs and more than 15,000 people every year for a day of doggone fun in downtown San Jose.
Attendees can check out more than 75 pet vendors and get all kinds of information and tips on dog grooming, veterinary care, and adoption. There will be tons of activities for the dogs (and kids!) and lots of pup-centric crafts to splurge on, too.
Pet news, updates, and special offers
from your friends at Vetted.
In addition to the usual contests, performances, demonstrations, kids activities, rescue organizations, and concessions, there are a lot of new things to explore this year. Several protection dog companies will be on-hand, there will be numerous demonstrations of “urban mushing,” and even a DIY dog toy booth where you can delight your pup with homemade chew toys.
Don’t forget to check out the festival schedule ahead of time so as not to miss any of the day’s premiere performances. Agility races, pet look-alike contests, and even a Santa Clara County K-9 presentation…it’s all here. Attendees’ donations will benefit several local organizations including the Humane Society Silicon Valley and the San Jose Animal Care Center, as well as dozens of other groups. Since 1996, the event has raised over $170,000 for local causes.
