Vaccinating your pet is one of your most important responsibilities as a pet owner.
Whether you own a cat or a dog, an indoor pet or an outdoor pet, vaccinations can save lives. It’s important to talk to your vet about which vaccinations are right for your pet. Not all animals need every available vaccine! In fact, rabies immunization is the only pet vaccination required by law for both dogs and cats.
Did you know…
- The diseases vaccines are meant to protect against are typically communicable and many have very high mortality rates
- The instances of adverse reactions to vaccines by dogs or cats is extremely low, hovering at less than 15 per 100,000 vaccines given
- Not all vaccines are required annually! In fact, many of the most common vaccines can be given every two or even three years in most cases
