Chowpit Breed Maintenance
Chowpits tend to have short to medium length hair and the slicker brush works perfectly to glide through the coat, smoothing the fur and removing loose clumps. This hybrid does not have a doggy smell and rather than bathing him often, owners can use a pet wipe to clean the coat when needed. Some Chowpit hybrids will have a few wrinkles, most often on the face and neck, which will need to be checked often for moisture and dirt accumulation. Gently wipe the folds and make sure that they are dry so that bacteria does not build up within the folds. If you brush his teeth regularly, you will avoid costly dental bills that may be necessary if the teeth begin to decay. Clipping his strong nails may take effort so train him from a young age to sit quietly through the procedure. He may in fact, learn to like the grooming routine and consider it time that he gets one on one attention from you.
